Achievements of the EMC

The Engineering & Methodical Center (The EMC) has worked on the market of Kazakhstan since April 1997. It carried on activity of rendering services in issues of Industrial Safety on objects of increased danger of mining, chemical, oil and gas industry with assessment of the level of readiness of potentially dangerous objects and equipment to safe and reliable operation.

The first in Kazakhstan Declaration of Safety of a dangerous object (DS) was developed in 2001 by the EMC. By now, certain experience was gained in this direction: more than 40 DS has been developed with the application ofgenerally recognized in the world Methods of Risk Scoring, based upon the risk tolerability criteria "ALARP", and with the use of the computer program on accident impact analysis (PHAST Professional), developed by DNV Company (Det Norske Veritas).

The EMC has the Certificate for the right of works in the area of Industrial Safety as well as a number of state licenses for:

  • expert examination of industrial safety for conformity with normative requirements of the Republic of Kazakhstan to design and production engineering documentation, equipment and mechanisms of foreign origin, and explosives;
  • training workers, engineering and technical personnel of enterprises;
  • development of training programs;
  • rendering consulting services to legal entities and individuals on preparation of materials and obtaining licenses by kinds of activity, etc.

Today, the EMC is staffed with highly qualified specialists in the area of Industrial Safety and Supervising Activity, including Candidates of Sciences, engineering and technical personnel with long-term experience of scientific and practical work, possessing high qualification in scientific research, consulting and expert works, as well as works in the area of standardization, metrology, and certification.
